Real TV

I'm extremely pleased to learn that Manhattan Neighborhood Network, New York's own supercool public access channel, streams its content on its website [http://www.mnn.org]. It's definately worth checking out if you're stuck inside cuz of the rain or snow. It was on MNN where I first beheld the work of Concrete TV [http://www.concretetv.com], and here's hoping you too experience the magic.

Incidentally, there's a great archive of public domain films and stock footage compiled by Rick Prelinger [http://www.archive.org/movies/prelinger.php] that makes these amazing films available for streamed viewing or for free download in a variety of formats. An archive like this could keep video collage artists in the pink for years.

Call the vet back yet, to see what she has to say? :)

    Cool. :)

As for archive.org: That's what they're there for. They've got a HUGE amount of digital media, just sitting there, waiting for someone to download it...

They archive more digital media than the Library of Congress archives physical media. They also are partly funded by the LoC.

And here I thought it was just the host for the Wayback Machine.

I called the vet around 10, and she was in consultation with somebody. I'm due for a callback today. In general, if I say I'm going to do something "by Monday," you can usually bet it won't be done and done by 8.45AM, Monday morning. :-) I will blog the news as I get it, rest assured.
