I want to express my sincere thanks to cfs and Micah for helping me with expenses while I await my first paycheck.
With my coffers empty and the credit cards maxed, I was literally out of food. Not in the "I don't have easily microwavable food" sense. I'm talking Old Mother Hubbard.
cfs came over last night and took me foodshopping, and let me fill the basket with a few weeks worth of groceries. It was an act of gracious selflessness from someone who's sometimes been on the more abrasive end of my introverted nature. I am extremely grateful.
Albertson's has thes 10 items for $10 deals, but you don't have to get ten items to get the deal. So, provided you have an Albertson's card, anything that's 10/$10 is effectively $1/item. The items change from week to week, so it's not all crap and chaff. It's a good deal in tough times. Without the card, the receipt says the bill totals $106. With the card, it came to $57. That's almost half the bill to you 'n me.
Micah supplied my landlord with some rent money, thus saving Simba and I from eviction and the inevitable lack of couch space or cat tolerance. It will take me seven days to pay him back, and those seven days make all the difference.
