Kill Me I Suck
There's been an ongoing issue at work where those of us who've upgraded to Acrobat 7 didn't realize we'd been given Acrobat 7 *Standard* until it was too late. Acrobat Professional includes a lot of workflow and collaboration features not present in Standard. So the "upgrade" was actually less feature rich than the old version of Acrobat Professional.
CUT TO: Last night.
I tried to install a 30-day trial of Acrobat 7 Professional that I downloaded from Adobe's website so I could begin an article about effective markups. First off, the installer rudely gives you no choice of where to install the file. But then came the coup de grace. In a blazing act of self-sacrifice, the Acrobat 7 refused to install it self over or alongside Acrobat 6 professional, and destroyed it's own processes with these dying words:

I'm...not sure how to react to that. :-)

I would take it as the wonderful blessing that it is and drive over to the Adobe building and start hugging random people who go in and out.
