¡Oye!! ¡Uno Año!

Whoa. On October 1, this weblog turned one year old. It's been an interesting year, if I may understate things a little - certainly not all of it has made these pages. I've heard whispers that I could do with more candid entries on occasion, and maybe so. I've also been told I should shut up sometimes. Maybe so.

Either way, this little experiment has really come into its own, and I have to say that I'm quite the better for it being here. I've been looking over it these past few minutes, and in many ways it does capture my character in some ways. Abov e all, it's a hodgepodge, a bizarre mix of the highs and the lows of culture and emotions. The concept of the personal weblog fits me - it's very existance is a parenthesis in the action of life - and I couldn't make it if I couldn't take shelter in those parenthesis. I've often felt like there's me, going through the world, and there's this other me, behind me, maybe slightly to the left, with a remote control that can pause the action. There are usually several moments throughout the day where I'm compelled to freeze frame the playback, and say, "damn, people...this is crazy stuff."

On that note, I found out today - quite matter of factly, that "Wheel's On Fire," aka the Ab-Fab theme song, is by none other than Bob Dylan himself. I realized this when I was listening to The Byrds Play Dylan, and suddenly it was the Byrds singing Ab-Fab. Very strange. And here I call myself a music geek.

So happy birthday, dear bloggie, if a little belated. You know bad I am with that. :-)
