Tax cut-off

I found this Fortune magazine article compelling. Remember back during the energy-industry devised "California Energy Crisis" when Californians had to pay through the nose to the oil boys to keep the lights on while Bush sneered that we should just take care of ourselves? Well, it turns out this bullshit is much more institutional than one would expect: the red-state moral-values legions are siphoning the economic spoils of the blue states for their own nefarious purposes.

So the question begs to be asked: since the progressive blue states generate most of the money while die-hard Bush supporters pray on the take as they wait for ConAgra to bring a cookie factory to town, is there a way for us to illustrate, with extreme conviction, what it's means to vote against your own economic interests?

Hey, it's life during wartime, right?
